About GetVerbs
GetVerbs helps you master Spanish verbs with short, focused practice. It's free, has no ads, and doesn't ask you to sign up.
Who made this
Hi, I'm John Smith. I built GetVerbs while studying Spanish because I couldn't find a clean, straightforward way to practice verb conjugations. I wanted to organize them in a way that actually made sense to me, and make it 100% free for anyone else learning.
How practice works
- Choose the tenses and verbs you want to work on.
- Type each form. Press Enter to check it and again to continue.
- Any form you miss comes back a few questions later, until you get it right.
- At the end, you'll see your accuracy and a list of what to review.
Practice modes
- Type it: see the pronoun and verb, type the form.
- Multiple choice: pick the right form out of four. Good for beginners.
- Translate: turn an English phrase like “we will eat” into Spanish.
- Timed round: answer as many as you can in 60 seconds and beat your best.
Your own verb list
Tap “Add to my list” on any verb page, or build a list on the Practice page, then drill only those verbs. Ready-made lists cover top irregulars, stem-changers, reflexive verbs and go-verbs.
Sources and how the conjugations are checked
Every conjugation on GetVerbs is generated from Spanish grammar rules, then checked against a trusted reference before it goes live.
- Main reference: Fred Jehle's Spanish verb database, a free, openly licensed collection of over 600 fully conjugated verbs, compiled by a professor of Spanish and widely used by teachers and learners.
- Every form, every time: an automatic check compares all 353 verbs, in all 11 tenses and every person, letter by letter against that reference. If a single form disagrees, the site isn't updated until it's fixed.
- Reference typos: no database is perfect. When the reference itself has a typo, I confirm the correct form in standard Spanish grammar and record the correction, so every change from the reference is documented.
- Extra checks: English meanings are reviewed by hand, and the highlighted letters on irregular forms are tested to match exactly the parts that differ from the regular pattern.
GetVerbs uses standard Spanish as taught in most courses. The vosotros forms used in Spain are included, and vos forms aren't covered yet.
Accents
By default, a missing accent still counts as correct, but you'll be reminded about it. Turn on strict accents for a tougher test. Use the accent bar under the answer box to add á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ or ü.
